Dagny is an AI-first agency. Founder-led by Ali and Will, operators who paired at a prior startup and have spent the last 2 years building and shipping AI-powered work for real customers in production. We work with the industries about to get reshaped by AI but underserved by it today: political ops, NGOs, education, manufacturing, accounting. We partner long-term, embed deep, and turn the AI shift into wins for our customers.

The role

You determine project destiny. You sit inside the operation, not above it, and turn manual, margin-killing workflows into systems that actually work. You pair with a Forward Deployed Engineer and together you fully own the client engagement end to end: scoping, implementation, expansion.

Our clients don't need another strategy deck. They need someone who can see the problem on Monday and have the first version running by Friday. That someone is you.

What you'll do

  • Own client engagements end to end. From the first scoping call through implementation and business expansion. You are the relationship, the strategist, and the operator, all at once.
  • Scope problems like a consultant. You have done the 80+ hour weeks. You know how to decompose messy business processes into structured, solvable pieces. The difference here is that you actually get to build the solution.
  • Ship MVPs fast using the latest AI tooling. Claude Code, custom agents, workflow automation. You are building with the sharpest tools available, not writing requirements docs for someone else to build six months from now.
  • Work in a pod with a Forward Deployed Engineer. Together you fully own the client engagement: scoping, implementation, expansion. No bureaucracy. No committee. Just results.
  • Expand accounts by proving value. You don't sell. You deliver so well that the next project sells itself.
  • Stay dangerously current. AI moves weekly. You move with it. New models, new frameworks, new capabilities, tested before the announcement blog post goes live.

Who you are

We do not care about your title or where you went to school. We care about what you ship and how fast you learn.

Structured operator.

Former consultant, investment banker, PE associate, product manager, or chief of staff. Someone who learned how to structure ambiguity and deliver under pressure, and is now ready to build instead of advise.

AI-native.

You don't just use AI tools, you think in agents, prompts, and workflows. You have shipped things with AI that made people ask, "wait, how did you do that so fast?"

Relentlessly curious.

You have gone deep on at least three topics this month that have nothing to do with your job. That is just who you are.

Exceptional communicator.

You can explain a technical architecture to a CEO and a business case to an engineer in the same meeting.

High agency, low ego.

You don't wait for permission. You don't need a playbook. You figure it out, ship it, and ask for feedback after.

Where you'll work

Remote. US timezones (PT or ET). Nearshore welcome. There is an enormous talent base outside the US and we want to tap it. No US visa sponsorship at this time. Occasional travel to customer sites when the work calls for it.

Compensation

This is a contract role first. We work hard, ship fast, and pay accordingly.

Base. Competitive contract rate, set per role.

Performance bonus. Tied directly to the client engagements you own. Grow one account, pick up another, you make more. No ceiling. No lid.

Path to FTE. When the contract works, we convert. We are building this for the long run. We want partners, not freelancers passing through.
